    BGN or foreign currencies? Receive or send?

    BGN transfers

    Raiffeisenbank executes transfers in BGN within the territory of Bulgaria through BISERA (Bank Integrated Electronic Payment System) or RINGS (Real-time Gross Settlement System).


    BISERA allows execution of payment orders for amounts less than 100.000,00 BGN with the same or next value date of the beneficiary's bank.


    To obligatory settlement through RINGS are subject all payments equal to or exceeding 100.000,00 BGN as well as payment orders for smaller amounts upon customer's request. The originator's bank has a commitment to execute RINGS payment not later than 1 hour after receipt the payment order from the customer and the beneficiary's bank to credit the beneficiary within 1 hour after receipt of funds.

    Foreign currency transfers

    Raiffeisenbank (Bulgaria) EAD executes transfers within the territory of the country and cross-border transfers in foreign currency – by order of local and foreign individuals in accordance with the Bulgarian legislation.

    Currencies in which the bank executes payment orders

    The bank can execute a payment ordered by a customer in any of the following currencies: EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, PLN, TRY, SEK, NOK, DKK, JPY, RUB, RON.

    Other “exotic” currencies

    Raiffeisenbank offers the option of ordering funds transfers to other banks in AUD, CAD, CZK, INR and more than 100 other currencies. It also processes transfers received from other banks in AUD, CAD, CZK, HUF and more than 35 other currencies. The money is debited from or credited to, as the case may be, the account you have with Raiffeisenbank in the relevant currency equivalent at the exchange rate valid at the time of confirmation with the correspondent bank (Deutsche Bank), where the currency exchange is performed.

    • Option to receive and initiate transfers in various foreign currencies without having a current account in the relevant currency.
    • With a EUR current account with the bank, you receive/send the euro equivalent of the initial currency and thereby avoid additional currency conversions.
    • To take advantage of the option to receive a transfer from another bank in an exotic currency (or its euro equivalent), you have to inform your payer/counterpart that Raiffeisenbank’s correspondent for exotic currencies is Deutsche Bank AG, London (SWIFT/BIC: DEUTGB2L).

    Due to the specific features of some currencies, Raiffeisenbank reserves the right to change the currency lists at any time without notice.
